Who do I call for…
A working guide to who to actually call.
Half the frustration in home problems is knowing which kind of person you're supposed to call in the first place. This is where we sort that out — one trade at a time, and only for people we'd call for our own house.
The pages below fall into two groups. The educational ones help you figure out what kind of specialist you actually need — those are ready as we write them. The "trusted" ones are named-partner recommendations, and they only go live after we've genuinely vetted someone. We won't publish a name we wouldn't call ourselves, so this list will grow slowly on purpose.

Need a name for a trade that isn't published yet? Call and ask. We may already know someone we'd recommend — we just haven't put them on the page yet.
Not sure which specialist to call?
Describe what's going on. If we're the right call, we'll say so. If it's someone else, we'll point you at the right person — or the right kind of person if the specific name isn't published yet.
