What we don't do
The list we publish on purpose.
Most businesses hide their boundaries in fine print — or don't have any. Ours are here, on a page of their own, before you have to ask. If your problem is on this list, we'll refer you to someone who's actually the right call. That's a full service, not a failure.
These are absolute. There's no exception granted by a good customer, a large fee, or an urgent situation. If we said yes to work we shouldn't take, we'd do it badly, or dangerously, or dishonestly — and none of those are worth what you'd pay us.
- 01
Licensed trades work.
No electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, structural, gas, pool, or septic. We identify the right professional and refer.
- 02
High-liability work.
No ladder work above single-story roofline, no crawlspace, no unsupervised attic work in Florida summer heat.
- 03
Destructive computer work.
No hard-drive recovery attempts on your critical data. No firmware flashing. That's a specialist's job, and we'll say so.
- 04
Your bank, brokerage, or tax accounts.
We can sit next to you and coach. You type. We do not log in to financial accounts on your behalf.
- 05
Caregiving or medical decisions.
We're not caregivers. We don't administer medication, transport patients, or make medical calls. We refer.
- 06
Legal, tax, or insurance advice.
Not our field. We'll point you to the right professional.
- 07
Driving customers.
We're not an Uber.
- 08
Anything that requires pretending expertise we don't have.
Ever.
The next step if you're on this list
We'd rather send you to the right person than take the job ourselves.
Our referral guide is where we point you to people we'd actually call for our own house. We add trades to it one at a time — only when we've genuinely vetted someone. If the trade you need isn't on the page yet, call and ask.
